Dear Friends,
I’ve been asked why I’m running for Congress. I’m running because I am disillusioned with our representatives in Washington. I’m not content with the road our Nation’s policies and actions are taking us down. I’m not happy with a Congress that abdicates its responsibilities under the Constitution. Our nation is supposed to be a healthy democratic republic, not a monocracy.
I am tired of career politicians who focus on partisan politics and reelection, and ignore what is important to their constituents. I've always been proud of our country, but we all deserve to be proud of our government.
We must secure civil liberties as we secure the nation, safeguard Social Security and Medicare, implement a workable energy policy, reform the healthcare system, enforce our immigration laws and provide for the education of our children, the future of our country.
On the local level, while our neighbors in West Virginia, Virginia, and Pennsylvania experience economic growth due to federal initiatives brought about by their representatives, portions of our district struggle to survive. Washington and Frederick Counties are experiencing rapid growth with little or no infrastructure relief in sight, while Allegany and Garrett Counties are experiencing negative growth. Then we have the forgotten portions of the district, Baltimore, Harford, Carroll and Montgomery Counties.
I am not content with the status quo and for me that means running for office, taking on an incumbent in the primary and dedicating my time and energy to returning Congress to the people.
I keep hearing people say, "someone should do something”, I’m a proven leader and I'm ready to be that someone. It’s time for the people of the 6th district to reclaim their government.
I can make a difference! I can bring your voice to Washington! I can make your vote count!
We must stop playing politics and economics with people’s lives and the legacy we will leave behind for our children and grandchildren.
It’s about the people, it’s about the future, it’s about the principles upon which this country was founded and not the politicians or partisan politics.
Thank you and God Bless,
