My fellow Citizens,
The Republican Party, the party of Reagan, Goldwater, Eisenhower and Jefferson has forgotten what it stands for and has stayed far from its roots.
Under this Congress, the previous Congress controlled by the party, and the Bush Administration, the federal government has expanded exponentially.
Legislation promoting spending on unnecessary programs and the War in Iraq has lead to a 9.3 trillion dollar deficit. Time and time again the GOP has shown they embrace the status quo, big government, intrusion into citizen’s private lives, restrictions on personal liberties and spending excesses that require us to borrow from China, the UK and other countries.
6th district residents, Republicans, registered Democrats and the Independents who vote Republican, should look into the mirror and ask themselves the following question. Am I a true believer in limited government, personal choice and liberty?
Hopefully, your answer is, I believe in limited government and all that goes along with that belief. Unfortunatly many in Congress believe in using government to promote special interest’s agendas, even when though those agendas go against republican principles.
Ronald Reagan said that libertarianism is "the very heart and soul of conservatism". If you believe in limited government, individual rights, free choice, a sensible foreign policy, if you believe that government serves the people, the people don’t serve the government, than and only than do you, as I do, walk in the tradition of Reagan, Goldwater, Eisenhower and Jefferson.
A Representative must stand up for principles upon which the country was founded, represent the people, not special interests and not march in lock step with any party. They must be a true leader.
They must champion legislation to ensure the future of the country and guarantee that we pass to the next generation a country and world that is better than the one inherited from the prior generation.
Thank you and God Bless,
